Hello everyone, today I decided to do a comparison post! I die for amazing hair care. For a long time, I would play around with different shampoo and conditioners. At this point in my life, if I can that is… I try to avoid drug store brands simply because I’m very low maintenance when it comes to my hair and would like to keep it as healthy as possible for as long as possible. My current two favorite products are OUAI and OLAPLEX. Both are incredible but are also so different.
Let’s talk about OUAI products first and no it’s not because I love Jen Atkin… even though I live for her vibrant, low-key, cool-girl vibe!! The shampoo and conditioner uses their own unique Smart Technology complex rendering a product that locks in moisture, minimizes breakage, nourishes hair and enhances your natural hairs appearance. The fragrance is never over powering and you can choose from a variety of products that are meant to either repair, smooth, curl, or clean your hair. The key ingredients include the STC, tamarind seed extract, smart keratin, and an amino acid blend. The downside of OUAI? I prefer a small amount of shampoo to create a lot of soapiness. Weird I know, but it gives me that clean feel! With this product, you may need to use more than you would with another shampoo to really get that CLEAN feeling.
On the other hand, we have OLAPLEX which is a salon favorite! I love this product and how it makes you feel. It’s known for moisturizing, repairing, creating shine and overall healthier hair. It works for all hair types, is made up of clean ingredients and the key ingredient being bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate which is the main ingredient responsible for repairing as well as, protecting damaged hair! The pro is that it has this amazing clean shampoo scent and a little bit of product goes a long way here. The downside is the price because it is expensive but will last you a long while.
With that said, I love both products but it depends on what you are going for. I would likely recommend OUAI for everyday use and then the OLAPLEX brand for when you want your hair to get that extra care let’s say like before a big event or after it if you know what I mean!
